Biography
Marilyne Baril was born in 1986, Montreal, Canada. She studied Fashion
Design, with a fur specialisation at Marie-Victorin College and Fashion
Design Management at University of Quebec in Montreal. Since she entered
the fashion industry in 2006, she won 9 scholarships and awards; three
of them from the Fondation de la mode de Montréal and four from the Fur
Council of Canada.
Always having an interest for fur, in 2008 she participated in the Fur
Research and Development internship at NAFA studio in Toronto. While she
worked as an assistant designer at Body Bag and Boyz co. in 2008-2009,
she improved her fur techniques doing a fur design internship in Paris
at Noewa Fourrure, bringing fur in the front line of her creative
process.
With her final school project at University of Quebec in Montreal, her
prêt-à-porter collection won the Award of the best collection. Also due
to this award, she got a job of junior designer at Garage, high-energy
brand of Montreal.
